I do recollect that we have previously had chipping just at the end of the edge where the veneer didnt have any support. We overcame that by doing both cross-grain edges first and then the with-grain edges second which removed any chipped corners. Steve Donno  I noticed a sample on the desk which had splintering off the face on the middle of the edge. Don't think I've ever seen that before. Presume we've checked cutter direction of rotation and sharpness.
